Making A Sample Bouquet For My Niece : ))

One of my nieces is getting married in June and I'm making paper flowers for the wedding.  Today I've just been playing with some card stock and tissue paper flowers.  I'm really liking the tissue paper flowers the most, since they have a real softness to them.  So I think I'm happy with this sample...I hope she likes it.  She lives in California and I live in Arizona so we'll be doing a lot of texting back and forth and sending photo samples..."been there...done that", with my own daughter's wedding planning, but gosh I'm so enjoying this project.

What's On My Craft Table?...

I've been working on some new Boutonnieres.  My niece is getting married in June and her flower theme is Cherry Blossoms.  I'm calling this color "Deep Aqua Blue".

What's On My Craft Table?...

I'm so loving the color pink these days...
My favorite stitch is the French Knot...I've probably made thousands of them.

I've been using some of my Vintage Buttons for the flower centers.  On some the flowers I also added some paper accents and scraps of burlap.
More finished sample work...from here I choose a style that I want to reproduce in quantity,  although I could probably sell each one a as Unique Individual Item.  I just love them all, I think they are so sweet.  The softness of the crochet flower partnered with a burlap scrap and velvet ribbon just speak sweetness to me.
I love adding little details, like the tiny glass seed beads to these Boutonnieres.
Just a little messy...But I love having my materials at my finger tips.

When I'm not babysitting my grandson, I'm at my crafting desk working on felt flowers and leaves, twine and ribbon.  Soon I'll have a couple of bouquets to start posting on my Etsy shop.
I really love the hand stitching process in these projects.  I think it's very therapeutic...seems I'm always brought to a mindful place...so calmly focused on each stitch.  Crocheting the little flowers always reminds me that it's those simple little details that seem to make the most impact.

The Beginning of a Wonderful Journey

When my daughter Amber announced her engagement and that they wanted a DIY wedding, I couldn't wait to get started on crafting Bouquets and Boutonnieres for the wedding party. I created hundreds of felts flowers, some with crochet and beaded accents and some with embroidered details. After weeks of handcrafting each Bouquet and Boutonniere we were ready for the Big Day. The Wedding was so beautiful and  I received so many nice compliments on the work I did. So I decided that maybe I could make these lovely keepsakes for other Brides. So this blog is dedicated to my crafting journey, sharing my love for pretty, handmade items...Enjoy and please give me any feedback or suggestions on selling items on Etsy.
